DraftKings start NJ Online Casino operations with Blackjack
Not content with being the largest player in the New Jersey sports betting and Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) sectors, DraftKings last week also decided to throw its hat into the Garden State online casino ring.
The DFS and sports betting industry giant announced last week that DraftKings has launched an online casino within the state of New Jersey, giving online players to find another location to enjoy online blackjack.
The launch is the latest in the line of online betting sites that are live in the Garden State, and will eventually provide the full selection of casino games such as slots, roulette, craps, Live Dealer Casinos, and much more. Of course, the new casino will also offer a crosslink to the sports betting site, with DraftKings building a name for themselves as the biggest sports betting brand in New Jersey since legal sports betting began in the state in July 2018.
DraftKings online casino’s software suite hasn’t been developed just yet, however, eventually expect to see many other game options in addition to their mobile blackjack offered on the site, which will operate under the Resorts Atlantic City license.
With the launch of DraftKings first ever online casino product in New Jersey – or anywhere else for that matter – marks the innovative company’s latest leap forward in its ongoing transition from a pure DFS-provider to a full-fledged gambling operator. Cleary, DraftKings is out to prove it is so much more than purely a DFS and sports betting service.
Those interested in playing at DraftKings Casino NJ will be required to be within the physical borders of New Jersey, allowing for their devices to use DraftKings’ cutting edge and specifically-designed for New Jersey GeoComply technology to geolocate them.
Blackjack is Only the Beginning for DraftKings
Just a few days after the company begun offering blackjack in its mobile app for Android users, (Apple support will be coming soon), DraftKings has already begun seeing an engaged and delighted New Jersey gaming public taking up its online blackjack option as it continues to go forth on its quest to become THE preferred one-stop-shop for NJ online gambling.
DraftKings’ sources have alluded to with blackjack already doing well in the competitive New Jersey online casino marketplace and customers are showing initial excitement about its online blackjack game, the company will likely accelerate its plans to introduce more casino games to the sportsbook app very, very soon. DraftKings’ sources have indicated that those new games could possibly be introduced before the calendar ticks over to January 1 2019.
Matt Kalish, DraftKings co-founder and chief revenue officer, announced in a prepared statement:
“DraftKings is building a true one-stop destination for skin-in-the-game American sports fans. This is an early preview of our larger strategy to roll out iGaming products in the new year.”
DraftKings Proactive in the Evolving New Jersey Gaming Scene
Since 2013, online casino gambling in the Garden State has gone from strength-to-strength. For example, 4 times in the last 9 months, New Jersey’s online casinos have set new monthly revenue records. In November 2018, New Jersey online casinos reported almost $27 million in gross revenue. That upward trend continues unabated.
With those remarkable revenue numbers, naturally, DraftKings sat up and took notice, identifying a market it had yet to penetrate. Sports bettors have not always been online casino fans.
However, it’s great that DraftKings is now picking up the slack to introduce a range of options to traditional sports bettors. If there’s one thing that customers like, its choice. In New Jersey at least, DraftKings is a step ahead of the curve in providing it.
